Ruth Lenz
Associate Concertmaster
Ruth Lenz (Daughter of John and Paula Lenz) has been playing in the Phil since she was 14 and held a contract since she was 15. She became associate concertmaster in 2001. Ruth has a bachelor and masters degree in violin performance from UNR and is ABD status on her doctorate from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. She maintains a private teaching studio of approximately 25 wonderful students and also teaches with the Suzuki Music Association of Reno/Tahoe. In her free time Ruth enjoys camping, hiking, horseback riding, and generally being out in the middle of nowhere. She lives in Lemmon Valley with her husband, Andy, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 8 horses and a pond-full of goldfish.
