John Lenz
Principal Horn
JOHN LENZ is a professor of music at the University of Nevada, where he teaches cello, horn, theory, and directs the orchestra. He currently serves as principal hornist of the Reno Philharmonic, the Reno Chamber Orchestra, and the Great Basin Brass, and is the cellist (and hornist when needed) of the Telluride Chamber Players, and the Argenta Ensemble. A resident of Reno since 1951, he received degrees from the University of Nevada and the New England Conservatory in Boston before joining the UNR faculty in 1972. His wife, Paula, and daughter, Ruth are also members of the Philharmonic.
