Tim Young

Tim P. Young, Executive Director, earned a degree in music performance from the University of Auckland and played viola in several New Zealand orchestras before moving to the U.S. He completed a Master of Music Degree at Rice University in Houston and then played and taught viola and violin in West-Texas.
Following management positions with the San Angelo Symphony, the Midland-Odessa Symphony and Chorale and the Alabama Symphony, Tim, his wife Sharon, and their four boys moved to Reno so that Tim could work with the Phil. Tim enjoys playing his viola and coaching baseball and soccer.
When their busy schedule allows, the family likes to take advantage of the excellent hiking, camping and boating opportunities available in the area.
