Joel Munc
Youth Symphony Orchestra Conductor
Mr. Munc received his Bachelor in Performance and Music Education and Masters in Education from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Mr. Munc was the previous Director of the Youth Chamber Orchestra and is currently the Director of the award-winning and nationally recognized Galena High School Orchestras here in Reno, Nevada.
Among his many honors and accomplishments, Mr. Munc has conducted in Carnegie Hall with the Central Valley Youth Symphony, taught extensively in the Stockton, California area, and has performed with numerous professional organizations throughout central California and now northern Nevada and Sierras. In 2003, Mr. Munc was named in Who's Who in America, the original Marquis directory for professionals who excel in their field. Joel has also done a great deal of work in the community including the Washoe County School District Honor Orchestra Chair, Nevada Music Educators Association All-State Orchestra Co-Chair, Nevada chapter of the American String Teachers Association Member at Large, and adjudicator at many local festivals.
