The Sierra Philharmonic League (SPL) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization with activities primarily centered in the Carson City, Carson/Valley area. Our membership comes from a five county area south of Reno, including parts of California.
The SPL was formed to promote a free July 4th symphonic concert in the Carson Valley called “Pops-In-The-Park”®. This family picnic with a patriotic concert is celebrating its 25th consecutive year. In addition to this event over six social events are held each year, usually in a member’s home. These showcase the seasonal concerts of the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra with featured guests from the orchestra or visiting artists.
The League has grown in it promotion of fine music, still supporting the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, but also providing grants and music scholarships for local young musicians, south of Reno.
Our success is the result of our hard working members who donate their money, time and talent to the League. We invite you to join us and get involved. Our membership dues are $30.00 Individual, $45.00 family, or $75.00 business.
