The Alliance for Philharmonic Youth (APY) was formed in 2006 to support the functions and goals of the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestras, the orchestral training and performance program of the Reno Philharmonic Association.

Membership is open to any and all current and alumni Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra parents/guardians, Reno Philharmonic Guild members, Sierra Philharmonic League members, and Reno Philharmonic Orchestra musicians. Non-Reno Philharmonic affiliated community members are welcome upon payment of membership dues.

As a partner with the Reno Philharmonic Association, the APY seeks to:
• Provide an organized channel to disseminate information about the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra programs
• Provide An arena for discussion of issues important to staff, students, parents and other members
• Provide a forum for parents to network with other parents
• Provide opportunities for Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra parents to involve themselves in APY and other activities of the RPA
• Engage in fundraising that is dedicated to offering the Youth Orchestras and young musicians educational and social opportunities that may otherwise not be available.
